His yet another dream project was the production of biofuel from coconut oil at the biotech institute. The project was successfully completed, trial runs were conducted and preparations were on for its launch within a short time. He was keen on giving more priority to research and was the key person in ably guiding several notable achievements of SCMS in the field of R & D.

He linked SCMS with several top class Universities in the world enabling faculty and student exchange. It was he who initiated the prestigious Indian-German Water Partnership.
The SCMS School of Engineering & Technology (SSET), promoted by the SCMS Group of Educational Institutions, has been in the forefront of providing quality professional education in Engineering & Technology since 2001. The SSET has established state of the art facilities on a sprawling 29 acre campus at Karukutty in Ernakulam District. With an intake capacity of 700 students in seven branches (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Automobile Engineering and Architecture), and seven post graduate streams, SSET is the largest engineering college set up under the self financing scheme in Kerala. The institution has entered into strategic collaboration with University of Applied Sciences Ravensburg- Weingarten, Germany for joint research and faculty exchange in the field of engineering and technology. Right from the beginning SSET concentrated on providing quality education in a highly disciplined environment. This has paid rich dividends over the past years as is evident from the preference of students to join the College.
