SCMS School of Engineering & Technology (SSET)

The SCMS School of Engineering & Technology (SSET), promoted by the SCMS Group of Educational Institutions, has been in the forefront of providing quality professional education in Engineering & Technology since 2001. The SSET has established state of the art facilities on a sprawling 29 acre campus at Karukutty in Ernakulam District. With an intake capacity of 700 students in seven branches (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Automobile Engineering and Architecture), and seven post graduate streams, SSET is the largest engineering college set up under the self financing scheme in Kerala. The institution has entered into strategic collaboration with University of Applied Sciences Ravensburg- Weingarten, Germany for joint research and faculty exchange in the field of engineering and technology. Right from the beginning SSET concentrated on providing quality education in a highly disciplined environment. This has paid rich dividends over the past years as is evident from the preference of students to join the College.

The IEDC was set up in the College on 6th April 2010.Affiliated to Technopark Technology Business Incubator(T-TBI),Trivandrum, the Cell has been active since inception to create entrepreneurial culture in the College and to promote innovation driven entrepreneurship through student projects. Entrepreneurship Camps, Faculty Development Programmes and Innovation Related Programmes are regularly conducted under IEDC. Campus visits and inspirational talks by industry leaders and face to face with successful start up promoters are periodically arranged to motivate the students to focus on entrepreneurship as a career

Encouraged by the activities of IEDC, several of our students have turned entrepreneurs and set up start ups. A few shining examples are :

  • Vats IT Solution – A project by two of our students already recognized as a virtual incubatee of T-TBI.
  • Triraptor Technologies – Founded by our three B Tech students, already completed two applications for official use and aims to register as a company soon.
  • Tatkraft Innovations -Co-founded by four Electrical Engineering students, the company has been incubated with Start Up Village , Kalamassery. The project aims to rectify the non-uniformity of the renewable energy sources by introducing a ‘Smart Transformer’
  • Artificial Intelligence Labz (AI Labz)—Founded by a B Tech student is included in T-TBI incubation.
